By IFC Web on the 14 May 2011
Invergordon concluded there season with a loss to Thurso at home 30th April 2011. With amateur and welfare football now on the calendar Invergordon missed 14 first team players from their normal first team pool. The home side were able call on former, youth and fringe players to settle their final fixture of the season.
Despite Invergordon’s hard efforts and a 1-1 draw at half time Thurso ran out 7-2 winners, moving the Caithness side into 3rd position and Invergordon in 5th. A double from Wilde was on small consolation for Invergordon’s largest defeat of the season.
Highlights for Invergordon were good performances from Murray in midfield and Young Player of the Year David MacCormack wide. Special note must go to Andy Morrison (previous player for Invergordon in the title winning season 2001-2002) who travelled north from Glasgow.
